Allegra Dosage

In every Allegra dosage, you acquire a dose of antihistamine called fexofenadine. Fexofenadine works by blocking the actions of histamines which are responsible for allergic reactions. Allegra dosage is used for the relief of seasonal allergies such as allergic rhinitis. 

An allegra dosage could effectively treat sneezing, rhinorrhea, itchy nose, throat and palate and watery eyes. Allegra dosage can also effectively treat uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria.  Allegra dosage can also reduce pruritus and the number of wheals.

The recommended Allegra dosage in treating these symptoms for adults and children above 12 years old is one 60 mg. twice daily or 180 mg once daily.  For children 6 to 11 years old, the recommended Allegra dosage is 30mg twice daily.

Children below six years old are not allowed to use Allegra tablet. Each Allegra dosage should be taken with a full glass of water.  Any serious illnesses you have will also affect the Allegra dosage you will take. 

So, consult your doctor first especially if you have severe heart, kidney, liver disease and high blood pressure. For people with kidney problems or the elderly, Allegra dosage is usually lower. For pregnant women or those planning to get pregnant, taking Allegra dosage should be avoided since it is not ascertain how an Allegra dosage could affect pregnancy.

You can take Allegra dosage orally with a full glass of water.  You may also take an allegra dosage in a full stomach.  Always follow the directions on the label before administering allegra dosage. Take Allegra dosage at required and regular intervals. It may take several days before allegra dosage could improve your symptoms.
 
The fexofenadine component in Allegra dosage could interact with other drugs such as antacids, erythromycin, ketoconazole, rifampin, St. John’s Wort and even ordinary grapefruit, apple or orange juice.  These drugs could lessen the effect of Allegra dosage taken. 

Inform your doctor of any medicines you are also taking including herbal supplements and medicine before taking Allegra dosage.   Taking an Allegra dosage could also be affected by intake of caffeine and alcohol, smoking and using illegal drugs. 

Allegra dosage could cause mild and occasional possible side effects such as menstrual changes, nausea, stomach upset and tiredness. 

Although fexofenadine in an Allegra dosage is the only antihistamine that can cause the least drowsiness still it is possible to have this effect on you. It would be safe to refrain from driving, using the machinery or any other tasks that require mental alertness if you get affected by drowsiness.
