Allegra D Side Effects
Allegra D side effects can manifest after taking Allegra D medication.
Allegra D side effects could be as mild as tiredness and dry mouth or bothersome and severe such as vomiting,
convulsions, et cetera.
Allegra D contains fexofenadine HCl 60mg and pseudoephedrine HCl 120mg. The decongestant component of Allegra D
(pseudoephedrine) reacts negatively with monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor which is used to treat
depression.
Allegra D side effects sometimes show if you are taking an MAO inhibitor medication or have stopped taking MAO for
the past 14 days. If you suffer from a kidney ailment that retains urine, avoid taking Allegra D to prevent
Allegra D side effects.
Persons who have narrow-angle glaucoma and severe high blood pressure and heart disease are advised to refrain from
taking this drug as it can cause possible Allegra D side effects.
Fortunately, Allegra D side effects are not common. At times, Allegra D side effects do manifest. Some
Allegra D side effects are so mild that they do not merit the doctor’s attention. However, if these mild
Allegra D side effects become severe or do not go away then it is best to call your doctor.
Allegra D could stimulate the nervous system leading to some known Allegra D side effects which include: headache,
restlessness, abdominal pain, nervousness, difficulty in sleeping, dry mouth and tiredness or drowsiness.
Serious Allegra D side effects rarely occur. However, if you notice any of the following
serious Allegra D side effects then you need to secure immediate medical attention:
* difficulty breating or wheezing
* fast or irregular heartbeat or palpitations
* numbness or tingling of the hand and feet
* tremors or muscle contraction
* hallucinations
* dizziness or fainting spells
* convulsions (seizures)
To avoid Allegra D side effects, it is good to disclose to the doctor any ailments you have such
as high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary illness, glaucoma, thyroid disease, kidney problems or enlarged
prostrate sysmptoms.
Allegra D is best taken one hour before a meal. If you miss taking a dose, take it as soon
as you remember. But if it is almost time for the succeeding dose, take only one dose. Don’t double the dosage.
Inform the doctor about all the medicines you take including herbal products and
supplements. If you take drinks with caffeine or alcohol, smoke or use illegal drugs, tell your doctor about
it because these could cause possible Allegra D side effects.
Allegra D side effects rarely show. But that does not mean Allegra D side effects do not occur.
